A series of student life scenes unfolds like a comic strip, culminating in a punchline in the final panel.
Inspired by the experiences of my children and their friends, each vignette captures everyday moments: sleep well, eat well, show solidarity… concluding with a tribute to Belgian painter Magritte: “This is not a student.”
Part of a series of three, this painting represents “advice”; another portrays student life through the the eyes of their syllabus, and the third explores student life during lockdown.
